Social media has become a huge part of most our lives in this day and age, and Instagram is one of the top dogs. It lets us post pictures of personal highlights and moods we have at any given moment. And if you’re a pet parent, that means putting up pictures and videos of your beloved pup with pride for all the world to see.

We also have the opportunity to follow celebrities, musicians, and other people of note who often have millions of followers. But that’s not surprising at all. What is surprising is that there are popular pets who have millions of followers of their own!

Here are six dogs with huge Instagram followings, and we can’t wait to see more of their adorable adventures!

1. Loki The Wolfdog

Loki is a Husky/Arctic Wolf/Malamute mix who was adopted by Kelly Lund during a blizzard in 2012.

An adventurer and frequent traveler, Kelly decided to take Loki with her on trips around most of the western United States. During their travels, Kelly started taking pictures of Loki as he explored his surroundings.

This led her to create an Instagram page for Loki which, to this date, has about two million followers. Most of the pictures you’ll find are of Loki on all of his adventures!

2. Tuna The Chiweenie

This tiny eight-year-old Chiweenie with an exaggerated overbite and wrinkly neck was adopted by Courtney Dasher in 2010 in Los Angeles.

Sometime in 2012, Courtney decided to create an Instagram page for her pup when a picture she posted of him was showered with thousands of likes. Since then, Tuna’s Instagram page has grown to two million followers strong.

Most of the pictures you’ll find are of Tuna in his many cute outfits, as well as Tuna spending time with his human baby sister.

3. Marnie The Dog

Marnie is a 17-year-old Shih Tzu. Thought to be blind in her left eye and notorious for having an odor, she was found and brought to a shelter at ten years old. They named her Stinky at first due to the strong odor attached to her.

She was adopted by Shirley, who lived in New York City, and she changed Stinky’s name to Marnie, after musician Marnie Stern. Soon after, the vet extracted 14 of Marnie’s decaying teeth, which caused the bad odor emanating from her.

They also found out she had Vestibular syndrome which cause the temporary blindness in her left eye. Even though she found her forever home later in life, she truly has a great time with her mom on all kinds of adventures.

Marnie currently has almost two million followers, and it shows that even the roughest beginnings can have beautiful endings.

4. Marutaro The Shiba Inu

Maru might be one of the most beautiful dogs in the world, not to mention photogenic. The seven-year-old Shiba Inu hails from Japan and was adopted by Shinjiro Ono.

We don’t know much about his adoption backstory, but Maru became one of the most popular dogs on Instagram, having more than two million followers. Most of his adventures come from Japan, where he always looks like the happiest dog in the world.

He also has his own website due to his immense popularity and was even featured in an article in Time magazine.

5. Doug The Pug

Doug the Pug might be the most accomplished of all the dogs in Social Media. Having over 13 million followers throughout all of his social media accounts, Doug has done a lot. From having a best-selling book that’s been on the New York Times Best Seller list–Doug the Pug: The King of Pop Culture–to meet and greets, there’s a lot Doug has accomplished in a short amount of time.

He’s even been in music videos featuring the likes of Katy Perry and Fall Out Boy. Keep doing what you’re doing, Doug!

6. Jiff The Pom

This nine-year-old Pomeranian is the cutest dog you’ll see as you scroll through your Instagram.

Not only famous for being cute, Jiff is a three time Guinness World Record holder for having the most Instagram followers by an animal. He currently has nine million followers and counting on Instagram alone.

He even made his film debut in a movie called Adventures of Bailey: A Night in Cowtown. Jiff loves to dress up and show off on his Instagram account. Way to go, Jiff!
